Laudatio “Turiae” (In Praise of Turia)

This is an excerpt from an inscription found in Rome and dated around 19 BCE. It appears to preserve the funeral oration (speech) given by a Roman aristocrat, whose name possibly was Quintus Lucretius Vespillo, at the funeral of his wife Turia. It is item 8393 in the collection Inscriptiones Latinae Selectae (Selected Latin Inscriptions).
