The Poetical Stela of Thutmose III

Thutmose III (1481–1425 BCE) was eighth pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty of Egypt. He was extended Egypt's empire thought military conquest from the Sudan as far as Mesopotamia. The black granite stela (Cairo Museum 34010) inscribed with this text was erected in the great temple of Amun-Re, the Egyptian god of kingship, at Karnak to celebrate his many victories.
